New Firefly Forest mural at Seward school library

During the 2024-25 school year, Seward Montessori created the Library Squad, initiated by Library Media Specialist Dhaivyd Hilgendorf.
During its first year, students in grades 3-6 completed the following activities:
- named the group Library Squad
- ordered books for the library collection
- volunteered to check out books for their classes and other students
- created posters, decorations and buttons
- ran a successful book club
- created an LGBTQ section of the library
- helped with book processing, genrefication and reshelving books
The students named the library media center “Firefly Forest” and created a mural to match the name. Kudos to a productive and successful first year, Library Squad!
